Vijay Shah is co-founder and COO of Spherex, a data and technology company revolutionizing the future of entertainment. Shah is a successful entrepreneur with extensive experience working with U.S. and International companies focused on web-based development and leading-edge software technology. Having demonstrated his ability in accurately analyzing market demands, Shah has effectively developed numerous successful business methodologies, technology infrastructures, and organizational processes that have led to his ventures’ successes.


In his role as Chief Operating Officer at Spherex, Shah is building a team of engineers, data scientists and technologists to develop the technology to solve the content globalization problem for media and entertainment companies. As streaming proliferates globally and content explodes, Spherex is using human curation, AI and machine learning to assess and adapt TV shows and films for local audiences worldwide, so the content is well received by the biggest available audience.


A serial entrepreneur, Shah established and ran V2Solutions, a venture technology business that includes software and enterprise businesses. Under his strategic guidance, the V2 family of companies has helped numerous early-stage startups adopt successful execution strategies that have propelled them to new levels of growth.


Shah previously served as a leader of the founders’ Executive Committee at YellowPages.com, where he contributed to the overall vision and strategy of the company. While at YelowPages.com, he oversaw the high-level planning that guided the company’s restructuring of its entire product and technology direction and led to its successful acquisition by SBC Communications (now AT&T). Prior to YellowPages.com, Shah was founder and CEO of IndiaPlaza.com which he grew to be the number one Asian-Indian e-commerce site in the U.S. within a period of less than 6 months. Execution of his plans led to IndiaPlaza.com’s acquisition by Satyam Infoway (Nasdaq: SIFY) in 2001, one of the largest acquisitions in that space. Previous experience includes roles as senior network solutions consultant for Accenture, where Shah worked closely with the chief executives of many established corporations guiding them in defining their internet strategy during the 1990s. And at Iridium, where he oversaw deployment of a network infrastructure for 16 offices across the globe that managed the company’s complex global satellite communications system.


Working closely with early stage and established companies in the healthcare, telecom, and digital spaces as well as a strategic consultant to a number of Fortune 500® corporations, Shah thrives on guiding businesses to success. He also contributes additional time in an advisory board capacity to various startup companies in California, India and the United Kingdom. 


Shah holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering with highest honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He’s married with a daughter and son and lives with his family in Silicon Valley.
